Strong earthquake hits northern Japan, tsunami warning issued

The Japan Meteorological Agency says the magnitude 7.6 quake occurred off Aomori Prefecture, and had an intensity of upper 6 on the Japanese scale of 0 to 7 in the hardest-hit areas.A tsunami warning for Aomori, Iwate and Hokkaido prefectures and a tsunami advisory for Miyagi and Fukushima prefectures.
